Story

Friends in Need is an adult VN with multiple love interests and many decisions that lead you into different branches of the story. To clarify from the outset, these choices carry weight, resulting in varying scenes throughout the game. This enhances the replayability of the game, a feature I particularly appreciate.

You assume the role of a man in his thirties who has come a long way from his days working in a convenience store. During a period of financial hardship, you made a modest investment in a newly established cryptocurrency. At the same time, you were feeling unhappy and lonely because you were in love with your co-worker, Nikki. After some time, the cryptocurrency blew off, and you became rich. Since then, you’ve moved into a new apartment and spent your time enjoying and donating to different charities, making you a respected philanthropist.

There isn’t a lot of mystery, but the character development is solid, and the story moves at an average pace. The dialogues seem realistic, and you can shape the MC’s personality in accordance with your wishes—you can make him polite and decent but a vanilla guy, or you can make him more determined and firm.

One night, a familiar face shows up in your apartment. To your surprise, you see a sad Nikki standing in front of your door, asking you for a huge favour. Upon realizing that you’ve indeed amassed a fortune, she comes to seek your financial help. The money she’s asking from you is big, and you are faced with a moral issue: the loneliness and the horniness sometimes bring out the worst in you, and this makes you react to women in different ways. You can help Nikki, but you can also ask for something in return.

The choices that you make always determine the future course of events. This can either push the story forward or stop you from seeing some scenes and hanging out with some characters. The only issue I find concerning this matter is the rather challenging situation involving Nikki. While she takes up residence in your apartment, this aspect is unalterable. However, the silver lining is that you retain the ability to decline any other interaction or engagement with her should you find her unsuitable or undesirable.

The other female characters are better, more interesting, and have more things to offer; the majority of them need something from you (hence the title), and you can be their saviour. Of course, being the one in power, you can turn the situation however you want to. Similarly, the women can sometimes refuse to do your bidding, depending on the choices you make. Besides Nikki, you can encounter gorgeous Ashe, who is having a tough situation with her parents, a rebellious character named Risa, and many, many more. Would you like to meet them all?

This game contains only renders; there are no animations yet. There are plenty of lewd scenes that you can explore, and they are really good, but I missed the animations in this one; they would improve the quality of the game.

Still, the female characters look hot, and there are plenty of different body types and hair colours, meaning everyone could probably pick a favourite. I, however, disliked some of them, but that was just my subjective opinion.

The Brittani character is hot, and you can get some lewd scenes with her on a sexy photoshoot, which I found extremely hot.

Gameplay

The current gameplay isn’t long, but the story is interesting enough. The best thing about this game is the number of decisions and their ability to change the course of the story.

I missed the animations and, most importantly – the sound! There is no music and there aren’t any sound effects in this game which I found dissapointing. Adding them, and a replay scene gallery would only improve the quality of this VN.

Curley’s comments

This is a promising game with branching and hot female characters. You can shape the MC’s personality to some extent, but there were some issues I couldn’t overlook. While the dialogue and the writing are fine and without errors, I missed the sound and the animations, so I hope that the developers will add the mentioned elements in future updates. Still, it’s a good game that’s worth checking out.
