Story

This is an adult visual novel where you play as a guy returning to his hometown, where everyone’s lives are interconnected. The story isn’t your typical plot but focuses on individual character arcs and their unique tales, especially in the romance and adult visual novel genre. What’s great is that it doesn’t stick to a fixed storyline, giving it a refreshingly unpredictable feel. You might feel attached to the characters, but the story often takes unexpected turns. Even though it can be a bit frustrating, it eventually brings everything back together, adding depth to your connections. The story has some enjoyable, if somewhat predictable, twists that keep you engaged as you wait to see how they affect your journey.

The writing is the standout here, with excellent humor and genuine emotions. It avoids overdoing inner monologues and keeps you engaged. When you come back, you meet up with Melissa, your neighbor who took care of you when you were little and your mom had problems. There’s also Erynn, your childhood best friend. On the plane back, you meet gorgeous Alexis, and many more characters come into the plot after. On the other hand, some LI’s are just forced, and you cannot pick only one because there are so many of them. It would be easier with a walkthrough.

The story is fairly simple but offers opportunities as you progress, creating scenarios you might not anticipate. Still, I didn’t like the main character. On one hand, he’s portrayed as an irresistible babe magnet, with almost every girl he encounters falling head over heels for him within minutes, and has a magical penis, of course, which felt both monotonous and unrealistic.

On the other hand, he often displays passivity in situations that can be extremely frustrating. Additionally, selecting responses that aren’t entirely nice and understanding can risk losing points, limiting your choices if you want to experience all the content.

Also, I feel like the recurring use of flashbacks to provide background information, while offering valuable context, has a noticeable impact on the pacing and tension of the present narrative, making it a bit slow and more complex than it actually is. It tends to shift the focus from the unfolding events to the storytelling process itself, including how characters remember the past, what they choose to reveal, and their reactions to sharing these memories.

However, the good news is that playing the game can be surprisingly enjoyable when you’re aware of what to expect. The characters, despite their occasional lack of common sense, have depth and an actual personality.. The story is compelling enough to keep my interest until the end of the current content, and I’m definitely looking forward to returning to the game.

The renders and animations are average, with animations being less attractive than the renders, even in the sex scenes. They weren’t smooth and the sex was boring oftentimes. Still, I liked the models – especially Alexis. There isn’t much to write about here, as I’ve already said that I wasn’t impressed with the renders.

Gameplay

There’s an average amount of choices in this game, but possibly too many LIs, so it can get confusing. The sex scenes are a bit boring, and I feel like the story is quite basic, but it can keep you interested.

I wouldn’t say that anything in this game is specifically impressive, and there is no music or sound effects, which is a problem, because it would make the game more immersive.

Intertwined is an averagely good game with a basic plot and too many complex stories that end up together. There’s no music and the animations aren’t smooth – making this a problem for me. However, this game took a lot of time and effort to be created, and it is still in development, so I hope that some things will be resolved and music added. Check it out.
