Story
It all started when the MC was left in front of a whorehouse instead of an orphanage. On a gloomy and cold night, a mysteriously cloaked person leaves him at the door. Little did they know that this little baby would be left in the care of a couple of women who work in a brothel. How will it play out and affect MC’s life? Find out in this beautifully written game called What a Legend!
You play the MC. In the beginning, you can choose your name, and this is where it all starts to unravel. I chose a pretty generic name, John, so I will refer to the MC as such.
John has grown up with sexy women all around. However, he never got the chance to fulfill his sexual fantasies. Still a virgin, John decides to leave the whorehouse and makes a promise to himself: he will have sex with the first woman he encounters outside his home. He gets a room, and soon after, he hears a knock on the door. An old woman is asking him for a place to stay.
John stays faithful to the promise and lets her in. While he is mustering up the courage to do the deed, magic starts happening before his very eyes. The old hag transforms into a beautiful elf princess named Serena Nevernuff, the former ruler of the Old Capital, the biggest city in the whole realm.
She gives you a special assignment. Long story short, her father was killed by her mischievous uncle Vil, who is currently ruling the city and has swayed Serena’s mother into marrying him. Serena wants to stop this and overthrow her uncle. She promises you a special reward in exchange for fulfilling her quest. You are soon caught up in a limbo of magic, and Serena transports you to the Old Capital using her powers.
You are to give Serena’s message to Lady Madeline Goldenbush, who resides inside the city walls. Here, you encounter the first problem. You don’t have the pass for entering the city, and all of your attempts have been unsuccessful. Serena’s also given you a magical crystal ball, which you can use for hints; a tent you can sleep in and design all kinds of items that are needed for your quests; and a magical mirror that you can use to communicate with Serena.
In the game, you will meet a bunch of characters, including members of the city guard and plenty of villagers, many of whom are hot females.
One of these is Rose, a sorceress who designs magic potions and a beautiful ginger shepherdess.
Will you succeed and help Serena? It’s up to you.
Graphic
The sex isn’t in big numbers though, and you have to be patient to see those scenes. The sex scenes are not lengthy and are pretty vanilla, but I like how this was done because the game doesn’t revolve just around sex. Sure, our character is endowed, and he will have plenty of chances to show off his, um, talents.
If the characters are standing and talking, they are animated in the way that they show a little bit of movement, be it with the eyes, like blinking, or with the hands, moving them slightly up or down. I really like the graphics of this game.
Gameplay
As for the gameplay, this is a simple point-and-click game. Your decisions don’t impact the story because it is linear and always guides you towards the same goal. Some people dislike that, but I believe that it’s very easy to fulfill the quests, the only problem being that you have to be at a specific place at a specific time to do something.
There are a couple of cool features in the game: you mostly have to collect items in order to fulfill a task. One of the first quests you have is to gather the ingredients for demon wine. For this, you go to Rose, a sexy gypsy whom you afterwards get to be intimate with. Through this, you will meet different characters and unlock some locations. You can always click on your crystal ball if you’re not sure what you have to do. You can also collect some sorts of characteristics along the way, after you fulfill a quest or find a specific item.
Curley’s comments
Overall, I love how the game was designed and written. The dialogue is realistic, and it has the flow that it needs. The characters are varied, with most of them being witty and humorous, just like MC. You can interact with numerous characters and go to different locations. Still, you have to be patient to get lewd scenes, but I didn’t mind that. One thing that is a possible turn-off is the fact that the choices you make don’t really interfere with the story – it always leads you into the same direction.
The game also has nice music and sound effects, but the attention and care given to the details is what blew me away—the little things like clicking on the notice board near the well in the village, which allows you to see different ads that the villagers put online, and the foxes that are hiding in the bush in the forest (yes, you can pet them afterwards).
