Story
The Seven Realms is a lengthy and quite popular VN in the world of adult games. I really liked the world-building in this one. The whole lore is based on the real world, but it was expanded by adding different creatures, most of them vampires, werewolves, and witches, but also ethereal creatures called sprites.
So, what is it really about? The game plunges you straight into the center of happenings as you play as the MC named Atlas. Atlas is a good-looking but centuries-old vampire whose main goal is a mysterious event that involves a woman he has never met before. Her name is Leyala, and she is a beautiful, dark-haired girl who immediately catches Atlas’ attention.
You see, vampire biology and culture have some specific rules and processes. Vampires are very powerful, and their power grows with their age. Atlas, also a vampire prince, has some specific abilities, like mind control, but also more authority. When he catches Leyala’s scent, he is immediately drawn to her, not knowing why. Thinking that she is a newborn (newly created) vampire, he decides to investigate, but things take a darker turn, and Atlas ends up protecting Leyala from a pack of werewolves. Long story short, Leyala isn’t a vampire or any other magical creature, but she is something else—Atlas’ bond.
What are bonds, you might ask? Well, I won’t go into much detail because the game kind of complicates that situation with each new episode, but I’ll try to sum it up. Creatures like vampires, werewolves, and sprites can have a special mate, a.k.a. bonds. This bond allows the people who are connected to be very close, both emotionally and sexually. When it turns out that Leyala is Atlas’ bond and that many people want to kill her, Atlas decides to protect her at all costs.
Of course, they fall madly in love, and she starts learning about the magical world that was hidden at all times before her very eyes. Things get complicated when werewolves start attacking the vampires’ territory, and a trip to Norway reveals another strange event.
I don’t want to write more about the main plot, as I wouldn’t like to ruin the gameplay experience, but I can tell you that there are some interesting details and side stories alongside this main plot and that you will be able to meet many different characters, including Tasha and Zyair, Atlas’ friends and allies, the sprite king Kerros, and his beautiful daughter Effie. In the game, you can meet a total of 23 female characters, and you do get to have sexual interactions with them, so this game is really hot. I loved the sex scenes in this one.
This story is filled with action, drama, sex, and mystery, but it also has some aspects that didn’t really amaze me. As for the writing, it is good most of the time, but I would like the language to be more in sync with the character’s background and, specifically, age. For example, the vampire king and Atlas could have been written in a better, more realistic way, I think. However, this isn’t my main concern. The only thing I didn’t really appreciate was the surplus of complicated information, which starts to be difficult to follow after the first few episodes. The situation with bonds becomes quite branchy and includes more LIs, which kind of cancels the starting romantic relationship.
All in all, I would say that the story is interesting but kind of gets watered down a little as it progresses.
Graphic
This game features mainly good animations and good rendering. Sometimes I was really impressed by the quality, and sometimes I thought it was lacking. The majority of the stuff looks really good, minus the fact that I dislike the looks of the MC. He is buff, and the clothes are so tight on his muscles, so it really looks over the top for me, but it didn’t ruin my experience. The things that I really liked were the varied female characters, their choice of clothing, and the details on their bodies. The environments look good, but the renders I loved the most were the ones that included the sprites and their kingdom. I think Effie, the sprite queen, is my favorite character of all.
Gameplay
The gameplay was fine. I repeat, once the overload of information started happening to me, I kind of became a little bored. I like the thriller moments in the game, and the music is really good. It fits the scenes really well and improves the immersiveness of the game.
You get a fair amount of decisions that, in the end, determine the events, but not all of them. By choosing different things, you can make the MC seem and act more soft, or you can make him an asshole. I was not particularly fond of the MC and thought that his speaking style lacked consistency, but I liked the lewd scenes with Leyala.
Leyala, on the other hand, is a good character but sometimes really comes off as a classic damsel in distress, which is quite unoriginal, but hey, you sometimes just can’t avoid some things.
I liked the animations; there are quite a lot of lewd scenes, and that improves the quality of this game.
Curley’s comments
Overall, I like this game, but I wouldn’t give it the highest points. Even though the story is interesting, it kind of felt like teenage fanfiction at moments, and it was also a bit rushed. There is one major leap in the story that the developer used to move further into the story, but without any real effort. It was a six-month jump that, in my opinion, could have been done differently because the players couldn’t see the development of Leyala’s relationship with Atlas, which I guess needed to be one of the main aspects of this story. I didn’t really like that.
Still, I think the game is worth playing and that the overall design is interesting and unique. Even the text boxes and the font are kind of gothic and have a vampire feel to them, so I liked these little details.
Some tags are: 3dcg, Romance, Harem, Male Protagonist, Masturbation, Oral Sex, Animated, Facial, Creampie, Titfuck, Handjob, Assjob, Vaginal Sex, Virgin, Exhibitionism, Threesome (FFM), Foursome (FFFM), Anal, Lesbian, Interracial (Black), Interracial (Asian), Roleplay (Daddy), Incest (Twins), MILF, Male Domination, Roleplay (Master).
So, even though the story kind of reminds me of some popular vampire movies and series from the 2000s, it does have a mysterious vibe to it, so I recommend you try playing it. I wasn’t able to get around some things that I disliked, but in general, the game is good, done with attention to detail when it comes to character design, and features good music and sounds.
