Frank is a young guy who can’t seem to get out of a specific dating loop.
His life consists of constant one-night stands, and he doesn’t know how to fix that.
This problem starts to get to him, so he decides to change his life and look for a meaningful relationship. Find out what happens in this initial release from Ern The Skald.
Story
In this video game, you play as Frank (the name can be changed), a guy who is only 27 years old but finds his life meaningless and empty. Although he can have pretty much every girl he wants, he is very lonely because he never develops a deeper bond with them. Then he decides to get therapy and discusses that with his doctor.
His doctor suggests that the reason he has been living like that is because he actually wants validation and has the need to be desired, but this is his comfort zone, and he is actually scared to attempt to find something more real and deeper.
Her advice for Frank is to first, of course, get out of his comfort zone and stop sleeping around as much, but rather to try and go on a vacation and try to find someone with whom he will want to be in a serious relationship.
Although Frank isn’t sure and has a few temptations on the way, he decides to go to a remote village called Aurin – The Village of the Sun. On his way there, he meets Erin, a cute, ginger girl from Ireland, with whom he bonds before reaching his destination. Once there, Frank and Erin find out that they will be staying in the same accommodations, and my guess is that Frank will have a chance with Erin, but we will have to continue playing to find out what really happens and whether Frank will be able to change his way of thinking and, well, living.

To be completely honest, the visuals in this game could use some improvement. Sometimes, the overall look of the characters is a bit odd; the proportions and angles could be better, but figuring this is Ern The Skals’s first game, I’m sure things will get better in the future. The MC looks much older than 27, and in my opinion, the visually best characters are the Doctor and the MILF who welcome them in Aurin. There are no animations.
Gameplay
In this VN, you do get a couple of options, one of which decides whether you will get a lewd scene or not, but there are not many of them. I like that they’ve added inner monologues and music, but the overall quality could be improved.
Curley’s comments
This is a VN that has potential, but lacks polishing. I would like to play it again once it gets improved, but for now, you can get about 15 minutes of gameplay. The story is good, and there is a little bit of mystery involved since the developer added a thriller tag, but I don’t know when or how this will be shown. For now, it’s an averagely good game with better writing and dialogue than the overall visual quality.
